Manufacturer: Cipla, India
Pharmaceutical name: Hydrochlorothiazide
Pack: 100 pills (25 mg)
The main component in Hydrazide is Hydrochlorothiazide, which is typically used to manage high blood pressure.
Hydrazide should be taken orally, with or without food, generally twice a day or as your doctor advises. It is recommended to refrain from taking Hydrazide within four hours of bedtime to minimize nighttime urination. If you have concerns regarding your schedule for taking the medication, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Cholestyramine and colestipol may inhibit the absorption of Hydrazide; if you are prescribed either of these medications, ensure you take them at least four hours apart from Hydrazide.
Your dosage depends on your age, medical condition, and how you respond to treatment. Your doctor may initiate treatment with a lower dose and gradually adjust it. Adhere closely to your doctor's guidance. To maximize its effectiveness, take Hydrazide consistently at the same times each day. It is crucial to continue with this medication, even if you feel well, as most individuals with high blood pressure do not experience symptoms. It may take several weeks to fully experience the benefits of Hydrazide, and you should not discontinue it without consulting your doctor.
Suddenly stopping Hydrazide may exacerbate some conditions; therefore, your doctor may recommend a gradual reduction in dosage. Notify your doctor if your condition worsens, such as an increase in your regular blood pressure readings.
As your body adjusts to the medication, you may experience headaches, a rapid or pounding heartbeat, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or stomach pain. Decreased sexual function or heightened sensitivity to sunlight may also occur. If any of these side effects persist or worsen, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately. To help prevent dizziness, rise slowly from a sitting or reclining position.
If you experience any of the following unlikely but serious side effects, contact your doctor right away: extreme fatigue, joint pain/swelling, rash on the nose and cheeks, swollen lymph nodes, changes in urination, blood in urine or pink urine, dark urine, yellowing of the skin/eyes, signs of infection (such as fever, chills, or a persistent sore throat), or easy bruising/bleeding.
The Hydrochlorothiazide in this medication can lead to excessive loss of body water (dehydration) or loss of salts/minerals. Report any serious symptoms of dehydration or mineral loss immediately, including severe dry mouth, intense thirst, muscle cramps or weakness, irregular heartbeats, unusual drowsiness, a notable decrease in urination, fainting, confusion, or seizures.
